Fun Activities To Do Indoors On A Rainy Day

Tut tut…here comes the rain and ruins beach days, picnics, and hikes. The day usually has one last hurrah just when we think we’re done. But that’s fine; rain may limit movement but not fun! There are plenty of fun indoor activities to do with your crew and your boo. Want to have some fun with your girls? I got you. You don’t want to move off your couch unless it’s to get more snacks. I’m in the same boat as you. You may create the perfect ambience for your favorite monsoon leisure at home with just a tiny swish of your finger. Let’s get this party started with the activities below! Your drizzly day is about to get a lot more interesting!

On a rainy afternoon, nothing beats a Tea Party to enjoy everyone’s favorite beverage. Choose a comfortable spot with a great monsoon view, such as your verandah or a covered patio. Rainy days are the ideal time to curl up with a good book.

Oh, you thought a wet day meant it was time to cuddle up? You certainly could, there’s nothing wrong in that. Going out for a run is clearly out of question (unless you prefer getting poured on), but you can still get your heart pumping with a home gym session. It’s also a chance to flaunt your finest sportswear. Why not work up a good sweat, while it’s raining outside? Then, as a reward, treat yourself to a movie marathon. Win-Win!

Have you decided on your favorite thriller film? I’m streaming it live! Hell yes. Well, let’s sprawl out on a plush sofa or couch with some cushions and throws. To avoid delays, remember to keep a stock of snacks and beverages on hand.

Even if you’re not a huuuuge video-game fan, inviting a group of friends over to compete for the title of ultimate champion is goddamn fun. Or make it a drinking game, but you must complete your drink before crossing the finish line.

Put on your oven mitts and get ready to have fun in the kitchen! Bake yourself a pie, on a rainy day. Cookies, brownies, cakes, and even a loaf or two of banana bread are all on the menu. My eternal crush is fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. (And yeah, if the people you’re hanging out with are competitive, split up into teams and have a bake-off). If you’re a newbie to cooking, this is your chance to start from scratch and experiment with a simple dish.

Why create a space that is solely for others? Instead of being bogged down by the downtime that a rainy day offers, consider focusing on what you truly want to do and giving yourself a rest. Create your own DIY activities at home. Simply apply a moisturizing face mask and allow the pitter-patter to serve as your personal white noise machine. You deserve some devoted 'Me' time, whether it's for meditation, binge-watching your favorite show, writing down your thoughts in a diary, reading that long-overdue book while listening to your favorite music, or painting your mood on canvas.

Consider doing all of the organizing and cleaning jobs you’ve had on your to-do list for a long time with your live-in S.O. or BFF roomie, if you’re looking for free activities. And far be it from me to stop you from closet-diving with a glass of wine in your hand.

Rain can also signal a “heart to heart” conversation with your bestie. Allow yourself to be drenched by the raindrops and spill out the long-kept secrets. Simply place two bean bags and a coffee table on a relaxing rug, and cup your hands over a coffee mug, and the mind will speak for itself. Alternatively, why not surprise someone with a touching message? It simply takes about 10 minutes to put together a postcard or brief note, and just picture your friend’s surprise when they open their mailbox and find something other than junk mail!
